taught by Catherine Folkers, Certified VFRT Trainer
Upcoming trainings
To Be Anounced for 2021
Details
This is a 3-day in person intensive course. meeting on a Friday (9am to 5pm); Saturday, (9am to 5pm); and Sunday, (9am to 4pm).
Students will receive a blend of classroom study and practical application under my close supervision. You will receive a Vibrational Fascia Release Technique (TM) Certification at the end of the 3-day course.
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this class. Students do not need any prior knowledge of weighted tuning forks. We do not provide any materials for pre-learning prior to the Intensive.
Location
I teach in Lee, Massachusetts, in the heart of the Berkshire Hills, about 2 hours west of Boston and about 2 ½ hours north of New York. It is about an hour from Albany International Airport and also from Hartford/Springfield Airport. There is a direct bus from New York, and Amtrak train service to Albany.
If you have a group of 4-6 people who would like to learn VFRT and you are willing to work with me on arrangements, I will also consider bringing the training to you.
Required equipment
Students are required to purchase and bring to class the following:
128hz weighted tuning fork
15mm gem-foot attachments (any crystal type) for the weighted 128hz tuning fork
25mm gm-foot attachment (any crystal type) for the weighted 128 tuning fork
Most practitioners choose to have 3 tuning forks, one ‘barefoot’, one with the 15mm and one with the 25mm crystal gem-foot attachments so that you have all three options at your fingertips.
Sources: The gem foot attachments and tuning forks are available from Biosonics.com in the United States or from this link in Europe.
Note: While the tuning forks can be from any manufacturer, not all weighted tuning forks are manufactured with the same quality. We have found that tuning forks sold by Biosonics.com and those by the same manufacturer Riverbank Labs have the quality we prefer for our own business and for our VFRT Therapists.
This class will focus on methods and techniques for using weighted tuning forks for pain relief and for recovery and rehabilitation of acute and chronic conditions.
You will learn relevant principles of anatomy and biology relating to fascia and fluids, and VFRT’s 10 Core Skills, including our methods for using the tuning fork with optimal vibration, placement and pressure. You will learn and practice VFRT’s 7 primary treatment protocol groups.
Travel
All costs for travel and lodging are the responsibility of the student. Class ends at 4pm on Sunday, so please schedule your return flight accordingly.
Lodging
The Berkshire area is a tourist destination in Massachusetts. Within walking distance of the class there are restaurants, B&B’s and motels.
Meals
You will be on your own for meals. The nearest large grocery store is about a mile away. There are many restaurant options in town, about 2 blocks away.
Support
Whatever you need following the training, you will find there is excellent support for graduates. A closed Facebook page serves as peer supervision with oversight from VFRT’s trainers. You’ll be given links to video trainings of each of the protocol groups, updates to the manuals, and resource links for materials.
